Bio
Andy Greider began in radio at Penn State and studied journalism after trying on sports medicine. After two great seasons with JoePa and the football team, doing training, a few 100 level anatomy and chemistry classes convinced Andy he wanted to be a journalist. During and after college, he did some work with 5 newspapers and 2 radio stations on the East Coast. Then, he spent time in England with the BBC and Grenada before moving on to WorldwideTVNews in New York City. While working his way up the ladder to producer, he worked in the sports department and being the only even vaguely Spanish speaking person in the 11 pm- 8 am shift, he brought in satellite newsfeeds from South America. However, being told how to report the news - to the point of creating news - was too much...so, he left. Next, Andy opened 3 small businesses, while also working for AT&T selling business phone systems. It was a very confusing time period - working as a daytime corporate stiff, selling phone systems - while sneaking calls to installers (for his Home Theater company), to suppliers (he made jewelry) and to the band he worked with (ran sound.) Then at night and on the weekends, a whole other Andy emerged. That all lasted about 3-4 years, until the very glaring lack of sleep caught up and each piece slowly changed. Sold the two businesses worth anything and took a transfer with AT&T to Atlanta, and within 4 days of arrival, the powers that be closed the small business phone offices. That was the end of corporate America for Andy, more or less. Not sure where to go or what to do, he joined a college buddy and took a left turn at Albuquerque and managed a receiving dock at a warehouse for awhile, got back into running sound, learned to code websites and began a small side business again. On the verge of leaving Atlanta, Andy met his wife, and left the warehouse to help develop and start a dot.com - where he leveraged all his accumulated skills (and some) - from writing to web design to new business to even driving truck. Then around 1999, while his company watched the dot.com era bust from the inside out - and all those dreams of a big sell out go away - he began a job with MARTA, in the role of webmaster and tech translator. Stayed at MARTA longer than expected and then spent 4 years with Carroll/White where he was a Sr Communications Consultant, with an emphasis on leveraging technology for growing businesses. Andy also ran the New Business unit of Carroll/White, helping increase business 300% in his division. Currently, Andy is Brand Manager for QAlias, owns Greider Consulting and hosts the radio show, Uniqueness is Power, with Lee Kantor. Outside of that, Andy is working on two books, growing an extensive network, and there many interesting projects and money saving companies coming into the mix at all times. Andy loves to hook people up with others who can help them and to him, that's what business is all about. Listen in to the show, take what you find useful, and then give Andy a call – 404 516 4204.
